About Us

The Prescription Assistance Network of Stark County, Inc. is a non-profit agency that was initiated through conversations between Austin Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation and the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton about addressing the growing requests from social service agencies, clinics and churches for funding to purchase drugs for the uninsured and indigent in Stark County.

A collaborative was formed between the two foundations to create a solution to this growing community need.
The Foundations convened many meetings of organizations and persons in our community who had an interest in this important issue. The consensus was that an innovative agency would be established to coordinate prescription assistance, maximize resources, significantly expand the utilization of pharmaceutical companies' prescription assistance programs throughout the community, advocate for the vulnerable uninsured and make a systemic change in addressing this important health issue.

The Prescription Assistance Network of Stark County, Inc. was opened November 18, 2002, through initiative grants from the Austin Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation, the Sisters of Charity Foundation and the Health Foundation of Greater Massillon.

Prescription Assistance Network purchases emergency medications for residents of Stark County, enrolls individuals into Medicare D Plans, and pharmaceutical company Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs) which provide prescription medication at minimal cost or free of charge.

Prescription Assistance Network collaborates with agencies, clinics, hospitals, volunteers and community organizations to strive to provide integrated services, maximize community resources, educate and advocate for the vulnerable.
